The Joy of a Stable Mother

People who are emotionally out of control, use those emotions to manipulate others.
{Joyce Meyers}

Where men struggle with their sexual nature, women struggle with their emotional nature.  When you, through the Spirit's help, learn to control your emotional nature, you are MUCH more pleasant to be around.  People who have little or no control over their emotions are not fun to be with.  Children who have emotional mothers suffer.

I use to use my emotions to control others.  I would stew and pout if Ken wasn't acting and treating me the way I thought he should treat me.  I would use my emotions to try and make him feel guilty for eating junk food...{now, isn't that pathetic!}  Ken said he had to walk on egg shells most of the time he was home...{now, isn't that REAL pathetic!}

How many of you have friends where you have to walk on egg shells?  If you say the wrong thing, they will explode in anger or use facial expressions to let you know you are wrong?  Friends like that are no fun.  You have to always try and be someone other than who you are...

A mother and wife who has learned to control her emotions and has decided to be joyful is a very good mother.  Her husband and children know they can be themselves around her.  She accepts them the way that they are and loves them.  They don't have to fear her wrath.  When they come into the kitchen in the morning, they don't have to wonder what mood she will be in that day.  They can trust in her happiness and warmth.

The Bible says that a foolish woman can tear down her home with her own hands.  I think that must refer to her emotional state.  Emotions are powerful and can be used to destroy or build.  If you don't have control of your emotions, recognize it, confess it, and pray for healing in that area.  Being an emotional mess is not fun for anyone.  With God, all things are possible...even during PMS!

The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down
Proverbs 14:1

Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.  Proverbs 31:28
