As a healthcare professional myself, I've always been taught the only good source of information was peer reviewed journal, white papers, etc. However, who sponsors large univerisities, teaching hospitals and medical schools that complete this research? Pharmaceutical companies. Not only should you know your research, you should know who funds it. Results don't get published that go against the financial backer. If you look at the United States Pharmacopia, sodium borate (a preservative in almost all immunizations), should no longer be used in pharmaceutical preparations (yet the vaccine manufactureers do). And the risks of aluminum are no pervasive throughout sound medical science...it is not that of a "scaremonger". I am a healthcare profession with graduate training in reading statistics from studies. I choose not to immunize. The Surgeon General also used to tell pregnant women and a few cigarettes and a glass of wine was better than being stressed during pregancy.

SharonAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8046083858777525940.post-14099641696210517762011-08-05T17:47:46.080-07:002011-08-05T17:47:46.080-07:00I'm with you Lori. Miller called Vaccines: Are They Really Safe & Effective? Great resource!Lori @ Laurel of Leaveshttp://www.laurelofleaves.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8046083858777525940.post-61055859458310070682011-06-22T08:42:03.065-07:002011-06-22T08:42:03.065-07:00Lori, you sound as though you are an intelligent p...Lori, you sound as though you are an intelligent person who tries to make informed decisions. I would like to recommend an excellent resource about vaccinations: DEADLY CHOICES by Paul Offit, MD. Dr. Offit is with the Philadelphia Children's Hospital and a well-respected physician.
The internet is full of scaremongers sharing misinformation. If you want to know whether we have actually swapped childhood diseases (which were not nearly as innocuous as they are now portrayed) I would suggest that you look for peer-reviewed research in respectable journals - JAMA, British Medical Journal, New England Journal, etc. Check out PubMed for studies, but do not go on the opinion of one lone ranger. Dr. Wakefield may no longer practice in the UK, don't forget!Marcianoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8046083858777525940.post-17577894354371057842011-04-27T06:41:19.504-07:002011-04-27T06:41:19.504-07:00Thanks for being bold and sharing your experience....Thanks for being bold and sharing your experience. So many of us just trusted our Dr.s to know what was best. I'm so thankful that someone had encouraged me to do some research about them. I had no idea.Homestead Livinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03275793383950348728noreply@blogger.com
