Love Permeating The Home

Does love permeate your home?  If not, this is a good goal to strive for with your home and family.  When people walk into your home, do they feel the love going on in your home?  Is there love between you and your husband?  Is their love between you and your children?

If you have ever been in a home that permeates with love, you know it and it impacts you.  It is not that common but it is amazing.  Where love permeates everything, peace reigns.  Without peace, there isn't much love.

Strife and quarrelling are the fruit of a home without enough love.  Love is patient, kind, not easily angered,  always protects, and bears up under everything and anything.  Love never fails.  Does your home look like this?
Begin by loving your husband with this kind of love.  Model it to your children.  Then train your children to love this way.  Allow love to permeate your home and every one that enters.  Accept them the way they are and praise them often.  Look for the good in every body and forgive them easily.

Let all that you do be done in love.

Taylor Swift's Other Dream

She said the only other thing she'd want to be doing if she wasn't making music is, "Being a mom full time, doing everything for my kids, having a bunch of them," she says of her future aspirations. "That's the only other thing that could be as thrilling for me as doing this."*

Being a full time mom, doing everything for her children and having a bunch of them would be thrilling for her! She thinks it would be as thrilling as being a number one singing artist known all around the world with a ton of money. She understands the value of motherhood.  There is no greater job in the world in spite of what our society has told women.

The women's rights movement started because women were unsatisfied being full-time moms and raising children. Women were told they would be much happier if they were able to get out of the house and have full-time careers. This hasn't seemed to satisfy many women. It just causes their lives to be a lot harder.

I love it that Taylor is willing to openly admit her desire to be a mother and as much as she sings about love, it sure seems like she is looking for love.

I like Taylor Swift. She seems to be keeping her gentleness and kindness through her fame. I saw one interview with her recently and she admitted that she didn't know how to do love. I think the most important thing she needs to focus on is choosing the right man, a solid man who loves God, works hard, and keeps his commitments AND becoming a wife who will love and respect her husband without trying to change or control him.

Then she needs to learn that love is commitment. It has nothing to do with feelings because feelings will come and go. Love is a lot of work. It takes a lot of forgetting about yourself and learning to love and serve your husband. I pray she will learn that lesson soon so she can have the desires of her heart.

She would be a great role model to society if she found an amazing husband,  had an incredible marriage, and lots of children. Now that would be fun to watch!

Teach the young women to be sober,
to love their husbands, to love their children...
Titus 2:4

It Is Never Too Late

Her dad was a pastor.  Her mom was a stay at home mom.  Her mom wore the pants in the family.  Her mom fought her dad all the time and was always mad at him.  This young girl grew up to be the same way in her marriage.  She fought her husband and was always mad at him.
Late in life, her mother got brain cancer and her father had to take care of her.   This is what she saw ~
And then things at home began to change. Mum got brain cancer and we thought we were going to lose her. And in the meantime, I saw my parents fall in love with each other, even as my dad was changing Mum’s Depends and feeding her food and bathing her, I saw her laughing at his jokes and leaning on his arm and telling him how handsome he looked.
And Dad’s shoulders began to straighten out, even as he helped carry Mum across the floor to her favorite blue chair. Even as he microwaved potatoes for supper for the umpteenth time and folded his tattered underclothes and washed mum’s soaked sheets.
Mum needed Dad. Mum respected Dad. Mum loved him.
And Dad cherished her. Ministry was no longer someplace outside of the home, it was in my parents’ living room, at that blue chair where Dad bowed to cut Mum’s toenails and brought her tea and she thanked him over and over. And some days she wouldn’t wake up and Dad would sit beside her and type out his sermons on his laptop while she leaned against his arm.
When my mum stopped taking my dad for granted, and started needing him for who he was, he began to rise up to his full potential. He became a strong, confident, loving husband who protected and cared for his wife. He became the kind of man I could respect.
Powerful!  It is never too late to change.  Start loving and serving your husband.  Stop fighting him and being angry with him.  Love and forgiveness are powerful and changes people, even husbands.
When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them.  “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.  I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you."

Pumpkin Spice Muffins

Even the thought of these muffins makes me feel like it is autumn.  They are perfect on a cold or rainy morning with a hot cup of tea or coffee, and one of my egg dishes.  I hope your family will love them as much as mine does.

6 large eggs
1/3 cup grapeseed oil
3 cups GF oat bran
1 15 oz. can pumpkin
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup coconut palm sugar
1/2 cup agave nectar
1 1/2 Tbsp aluminum-free, GF baking powder
1 1/2 tsp sea salt
1 1/2 Tbsp cinnamon
1 1/2 Tbsp pumpkin spice blend
1/2 tsp cloves
1/4/ tsp xanthan gum
1 Tbsp coconut flour
3/4 cup golden or dark raisins
1 cup chopped walnuts, optional

Preheat oven to 365 degrees.  Brush or spray muffin tins with grapeseed oil.  In a large bowl, whisk eggs and stir in the bran, oil, pumpkin, and remaining ingredients.  Rest the batter for 10 minutes before filling muffin tins.  Spoon batter into tins making them almost full, about half an inch from the top.  Bake about 15 minutes.  Muffins are ready when tops feel firm to the touch.  Let muffins cool in tins on a rack 3-4 minutes, then loosen around edges with a knife.  Remove muffins from the tins to a wire rack to cool completely or serve warm.
