The Happy Duggers

Have you ever noticed how happy this family is wherever they go?  Michelle just announced that she is pregnant with her 20th baby and the whole family is excited for this new life.

People are very critical towards her.  How could she possibly want to bring another life into this populated world?  I can answer that.  We need more people like the Duggers in this world.

Their motto is to love God and love others and they live it.  They are trained to work hard and not complain.  They will contribute mightily to this society.  They won't be asking for government handouts.

I have watched their show for a long time.  The camera men say that what you see is what you get.  The children are never fighting.  They love being a part of a big family.  They have family devotions every day...reading God's Word and praying.

There is Scripture calligraphy on the walls of their home.  They give to the community.  They pass out cookies to the firemen and policemen and then thank them for their hard work.  They go to places that have been hurt by tornadoes and help.

We need people like the Duggers.  This world needs people like them.  All the people that are critical of them, I am just curious how happy they are with life.  Most critical people I know are very unhappy people.  A grateful heart that trusts in God and His provision and leading is usually a happy person.

I love the Duggers.  I am happy that people are able to see a family living out God's Word.  They are an example of what Christians should look like...loving, serving, and pleasing others.  They are content in life and loving God.

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
Luke 10:27

Feminists Will Hate This

Even a lot of Christian women will hate this post.  It is on the subject of submission and obedience.  If you aren't a believer, maybe you shouldn't even read it...

I have seen through writing this blog that many women detest the idea of submission and obedience to their husbands.  They even say that those words are not in the original Greek thereby, not true for today.  Oh my!  I don't even want to debate them on that one.  I am just going to let God's Word do the convicting ~

That they may teach the young women to be...obedient to their own husbands...
Titus 2:4,5

Thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee
Genesis 3:16

But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
I Corinthians 11:3

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.  For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church:  and he is the saviour of the body.  Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.
Ephesians 5:22-24

Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
Ephesians 5:31

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord
Colossians 3:18

Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands;  that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation {way of life} of their wives
I Peter 3:1

She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life
Proverbs 31:12

A man will resist with all his might those who come against him.  Most women spend their whole married lives in conflict with their husbands, trying to change them.  It is a battle of the wills that no woman has ever rightly won, for even if she gets his compliance, she loses his heart, and he loses his self-respect.

When a woman resists or tries to change a man, she makes him more stubborn, and her own heart will be filled with bitterness.  If a woman obeys God, a man does not have anything to come against, to resist, to dominate, to conquer, or to beat down.  A woman's greatest power is in obeying God through obeying and honoring her husband.  {Debi Pearl}

Amen!

Make The Most Of Yourself

The author recommends making the most of your hair, your figure, and your health as the seventh secret in Secrets Of Fascinating Womanhood.  Since men are highly visual, it is important to stay nice looking for them.  We should want to stay beautiful for him!

You can't separate a man from his sexuality.  It's interwoven into his nature.  It's a constant part of him.  When women combine cheerful enthusiasm, child-like humility, femininity, staying in shape, and appealing hair, she becomes a highly delightful creature to a man, almost irresistible especially when she smiles.  {I like that part!}

The author then goes on to explain how important hair is to a man.  She states that most men like hair to be longer than theirs but recommends you ask your husband how he likes your hair best.

She discusses weight loss a lot and says that diets don't work.  Staying in shape must become a lifestyle.  Her hints for staying in shape ~

Exercise at least one half hour a day, six days a week.

Eat a light dinner and no eating before bed.

Eat very few sweets and never binge on sweet foods

Eat food the way God made it.

Weigh yourself everyday.

Go to bed early and wake up early.

Get plenty of fresh air.  Leave your windows open as much as possible.

Don't get angry or worry.  Live one day at a time.

Smile and choose to be joyful!

Don't be one of those women who lets themselves go as soon as she gets married.  We are to be known for our moderation and self-control.  Looking great for our husbands is good motivation.  They will really appreciate it especially when it is combined with a gentle and quiet spirit.

Let your moderation be known unto all men.  The Lord is at hand
Philippians 4:5

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  gentleness and self-control.
Galatians 5:22

Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.
I Peter 3:4

Love Like His Dog

He never tells me that he's sick of this house.
He never says why don't you get off that couch?
He don't cost me nothin' when he wants to go out.
I want you to love me like my dog.

He never says I need a new attitude.
Him and my sister ain't always in a feud.
When I leave the seat up he don't think that it's rude.
I want you to love me like my dog does, Baby.

When I come home, I want you to just go crazy.
He never looks at me like he might hate me.
I want you to love me like my dog.

He never acts like he don't care for my friends.
He never asks me where in the hell have you been?
He don't play dead when I wanna pet him.

I want you to love me like my dog does, honey.

He never says 'I wish you made more money.'
He always thinks that 'pull my finger' is funny.
I want you to love me like my dog.

This is all that most guys want...They want to be accepted as they are and not be manipulated or controlled. They want a wife, not a mother.

I was reading this guy's blog and Christian guys were saying they never want to get married because the married women they observe are no different than feminist women. They are usually angry and upset all the time with their husbands.  This is not good!

We need to look different than the world. We need to love our husbands even better than their dogs do!

Like My Dog

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails
I Corinthians 13:4-8
