Weeping For The Women

I am weeping for women with an empty nest at age 39; their fertility surgically destroyed; their hormones artificially regulated; their physical and emotional health in shambles. {Helen Aardsma}

I read this quote from Helen when I was about 43 years old.  It convicted me so much about letting God control my fertility that I asked Ken if we could stop doing anything to prevent having more babies.  We were just using the rhythm method at that time.  He agreed but I never got pregnant.  I was too sick, I think.  I had a brain tumor shortly afterwards that completely stopped my pituitary from working which controls fertility.

Thankfully, I was 48 years old when my baby left for college.  However, the above quote really struck me.  I felt I had been lied to by our society.  We should control our fertility and prevent babies, it told us.  Up until artificial birth control, most people just had babies whenever God blessed them with them and they didn't think anything about it.

My grandmother had seven children.  There was no birth control back then.  She loved having babies.  They didn't have much money but God always provided for them.  She had her last baby when she was 47 years old.  He grew up to be her biggest, healthiest child.  She lived long enough to help raise his children.

There are so many excuses why we shouldn't have children. Every single excuse is a lack of trusting God except severe health problems for the mother if she were to have more children.  This is only my opinion but not having enough money, too much work, afraid of childbearing, etc. all stem from a lack of trust in God's provision and strength.

I realize this is an issue between each husband and wife but I enjoy giving you opinions contrary to what society tells you so you can carefully decide your options.  This world is on a broad path that leads to destruction.  God's narrow way is a path that leads to life and I love walking on His path.  Having children around into your old age seems to me to be a very good thing!

He maketh the barren woman to keep house,
and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the LORD.
Psalm 113:9

Asking "Why Me?"

Why have I had to suffer so many years of pain?

Why did I get a brain tumor?

Why do I suffer with so many neck problems which led to
having my neck fused together?

Why was I so full of parasites and suffered from digestive problems
for so many years?

If I ask these questions, I must also ask ~

Why was I born in America and have never gone to bed hungry?

Why did I marry an amazing man who is a great provider,
husband, and father?

Why was I blessed with four healthy children that walk with Jesus?

Why do I get a beautiful home, comfy bed, and hot water?

I have never asked why I have suffered so much physically.  I was more apt to ask, "Why not me?" I don't deserve anything but by God's amazing grace and abundant mercy, I have been blessed.  I am learning to look above my circumstances and see my Savior and His many promises to me.

More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings,
knowing that suffering produces endurance,
and endurance produces character,
 and character produces hope,
and hope does not put us to shame,
because God's love has been poured into
our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

Are Drugs Making Us Healthier?

Few people recognize that natural infections, especially early in life, can actually be beneficial as they serve to build a very strong and resilient immune system for later life.  In the days before vaccination, people's immune systems were allowed to become strong in such a way.  This means that, as they aged, people in previous generations were significantly stronger and less likely to die of disease than today.*

When I was growing up, I can't remember anyone with allergies, asthma, or autism. Some women had breast cancer but it wasn't nearly as prevalent as it is today. America has become a pill-popping society falsely believing that drugs will keep them healthy. Did you know that one of the first things doctors learn in medical school is that ALL drugs are toxic to the human body and should be given as a last resort after trying diet and lifestyle changes first?

Children are given close to 49 vaccinations before they turn 6 years old! People are so afraid of getting sick that they allow themselves to be injected with substances they have no idea how their bodies will react to or what the long term consequences will be.

Drugs don't cure. They are great for emergency situations but not to cure disease. God gave us amazing immune systems to heal and fight disease. Our older population is not healthy.  Most of them are taking fistfuls of drugs daily and burdening our already burdened health care.

It has been noted that there are a growing number of people living in their 100s, implying modern life is healthy.  Yet we must remember these people were mostly living in rural areas and small villages where life was hard, diets were mostly natural and modern medicines were rarely used until the extremes of age.  It is our early years which determine how healthy we will live in our later years.  Their early life was during a time when most of modern medicine didn't exist.*

These are people who were minimally vaccinated, ate better diets, mostly avoided medicine until absolutely needed, had strong family and social bonds and worked very hard all their lives.*

Drugs and chemicals play havoc on your digestive health. They destroy the friendly flora that keeps you healthy. Here are a few recommendations to staying healthy in a toxic environment ~

1.  Take a lot of good probiotics:  kefir, kombucha, sauerkraut, etc.
2.  Stay as far away from plastics and chemicals as you can.
3.  Clean with non-toxic cleaners
4.  Eat as organically as you can afford.
5.  Get fresh air, sunshine, and exercise.
6.  Only use drugs when absolutely needed.

Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends,
let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.

For Husbands Who Don't Want Submissive Wives

Some of the women I mentor tell me their husbands don't want them to be submissive.  I encourage them to ask their husbands these questions ~

You don't want me to please you?

You don't want me to give you sex when you want it?

You don't want me to fix your favorite foods?

You want me to continue arguing and quarreling with you?

You like it when I give you the cold shoulder?

You like me to always insist on winning arguments?

You don't want me to do things you ask me to do and conveniently forget
about them?

You want me to speak ill of you to others?

You want me to not respect or appreciate you?

Satan has so completely destroyed the word "submission" that even godly men have fallen victim to his lies. It doesn't mean a wife will lose her personality, or her opinions, or even her quirks. It simply means she is going to learn what pleases him, pursue peace in the home, and do as he asks her to do.

So husbands, if you don't want your wives to submit, it is completely your
fault when your marriage falls apart.

Now as the church submits to Christ,
so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.
Ephesians 5:24
