Her New Way Of Eating

When I was pregnant with my fourth baby, Cassi, I was full of parasites.  We are not sure how I got them but it was probably from these strawberries I would pick up from this fruit stand and eat them on the way home without washing them.  Not smart!

Hence, Cassi had parasites as a child.  This has caused a lot of digestive problems for her.  We have tried everything to have healthy guts.  Once you have a problem with parasites, it seems like you have a weak digestive system.

Well, she read about this new eating program called The Whole 30 Program.  She is having so much fun trying all these different recipes and ways to cook meats and vegetables.  This is a picture of her dinner.  She loves eating this way.  She has never felt better.  She's sleeping a lot better and has even created a website called Live Right Be Healthy with beautiful pictures of all the meals she has been cooking.

This way of eating is suppose to help with inflammation in your body, along with acne, allergies, rheumatoid arthritis, etc.   I am eating this way basically also to try and heal my weak digestive system and it is definitely helping a lot!  Both of our guts feel so much better.

Cassi says this way of eating is very satisfying.  There is a lot of good fats and meats that keep you satisfied.  You never feel stuffed and never feel starving.  It seems like a very healthy way to eat, especially if you have health problems or even if you want to prevent health problems.

Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you.
And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything.

I'm going to check this out right now! 5 Years ago my colon ruptured due to diverticulitis and I had a colostomy for 8 months before having it reversed. It seems I wasn't listening to my body!
This intrigues me very much. I'd like to give this a try, and if I do I'll report back about my results!
Lori, also have you ever tried, or researched, "oil pulling"? I read about this recently and am thinking of trying it. Do you have any advice to offer about this idea?

No, I have never heard of that. Sorry.
Reading this entry is a blessing! I'm 29 and have suffered from digestive problems my entire life. My problem (constipation) causes other issues, such as acne (ugh!!) and fatigue. I'm definitely going to look into this program. Thank you so much! Also, your daughter's plate looks so colorful, healthy, and delicious!
I have always had a strong digestive system until I went to Peru a few months ago and got stomach flu. Now it seems my digestion, even several months later is just not the same. This looks very interesting to me. I think I will definitely look into this.
I will totally look into it. My sis has problems digesting her food, she gets really bad pain. Her doc gives her medicine that she takes after every meal, which has helped. My mom has diverticulitis so she has problems as well.

Thanks for sharing and thanks for linking up to Making Your Home Sing Monday!
This is fascinating... I'm going to look into this! Thanks for the info... following you everywhere now.
I will check this out - I have had amazing results with the GAPS diet but there is always room for improvement!
I would love to have you share this on Thursday at Tasty Traditions: http://myculturedpalate.com/
the whole 30 is a great program by dallas & melissa hartwig! it has been life changing for me (i'm celiac & also have ulcerative colitis and fibromyalgia). PLEASE get their new book "it starts with food" ... it is EXCELLENT!!! they explain the science of food in everyday language & there are many light bulb moments where you go "oooooh ... that totally makes sense!". : )
Thanks so much for sharing this! Lots of great info:)
I found you via Anti-Procrastination Tuesday and I'm your newest follower:)

Stop by and say hello
Eliza K Prints
I've been reading up more on this and I've decided for sure to start following it exactly in January. In the meantime, I'm using self-discipline in December to eat reasonably well--abstaining from desserts and alcohol, avoiding gluten as much as possible, and avoiding overeating.
I'm excited about this and thankful that you shared the links to The Whole 30 Program!
I will let you know next month how it goes!

That's awesome, Tommie! Definitely let us know how it goes and Cassi's website gives fabulous ideas for healthy meals.
It looks really healthy and good for you!
Proper diet also has something to do with how we manage stress. It's always better to have an organic diet. we should fruttify our breakfast, veggify our lunch and have a little dinner often. Proper diet combined with good exercise, oh I can't just explain how fulfilling it is!
Well I think I'm finally ready to give this diet a try (along with counting WW points I think). Surely I can stay with it for a month! Wish me luck :)
