The Bible states that women should have long hair. "But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering" (I Corinthians 11:15). Long hair is a woman's glory. It distinguishes us from being men. In our culture, we need this distinction more than ever before!
Most men do love long hair. If your husband loves your hair long, women, then wear it long. Some women have very thin hair, and it won't grow long even if they want it to. Some men may prefer their wives in short hair. If he does, then wear it short but in a feminine style. We are commanded to obey our husbands in everything unless it's a sin against God. God also wants us to learn what pleases our husbands.
Many women are convicted to just wear dresses. The verse I use to decide how women should dress is I Timothy 2:9, "In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array."
I take modest to mean two things. We should not dress to show off our bodies or cause men to stumble. There are no set standards for this so you should ask your husband what he thinks is modest. He knows how men think. I just know that the more flesh you reveal, the harder it is for men not to lust. I do believe that most men prefer women in dresses since they are feminine and can be very modest. For most of American history, women wore dresses. Pants came in style with the feminist movement.
Modest also means not expensive. We shouldn't spend a lot of money on our clothes. It doesn't mean you shouldn't buy quality clothes, just not a ton of them. We don't need nearly as many clothes as we have. I think the Lord would much rather we spend money on others than have stuffed closets full of clothes.
God wants us to be women who honor him in whatever we do. You honor Him with your hair when you please your husband and obey him. You honor Him in your dress when you dress modestly and not showy.

My husband has always liked my hair long so that has been easy, especially as I've found lots of cute ways to pull it back out of my face from sites like pinterest.
I am sharing this just because that is what the topic is about- I don't mean to cause controversy, just to share a personal testimony.
Thanks for all you do Lori and still praying for your health.
