Some take this verse to mean that babies are born sinful; "Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me" from the NIV transliteration of Psalm 51:5. Yes, from this verse, it seems we are definitely born sinful. However, the KJV is a translation which is a MUCH more accurate version and reads, "Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me." This version does not say that babies are sinful but born into sin.
Yes, babies are born into a sinful and fallen world but what was passed onto us from Adam? Was it his sin that was passed on or death? "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned" {Romans 5:12}. From this verse, we see that it wasn't sin that was passed down to us but death because all MEN have sinned.
Romans 1 explains the progression of sin in a person's life since God's attributes are clearly seen throughout creation. Who is God's wrath poured upon? Is His wrath poured upon babies? "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness" {Romans 1:18}. God's wrath is poured upon those who HOLD the truth in unrighteousness; those who know God's Truth yet continue to disobey it. Babies don't know God's Truth. I believe a newborn baby has no sin, just as Adam and Eve had no sin before deciding to sin.
We are held accountable for our own sin. However, what about children and the age of accountability? We are all born with a conscience. We are supposed to have mothers and fathers who train our consciences in God's ways. Our consciences are molded by what we feed them with. The more time we spend in His Word, the more they are sharpened to know good from evil. As we grow up, we continue to make choices to obey it or disobey it. The more we disobey it, the more we will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. If we continue disobeying it, our conscience can no longer tell right from wrong and God gives us over to a "reprobate mind." {Romans 1:28}

Most children who grow up in Christians homes, either decide to continue walking with Jesus or walk away which usually happens around the ages between 18 to 22 years old. Since the brain isn't even fully developed until the early 20s, it makes sense to me that these years begin the age of accountability. Therefore, make sure your children's consciences are shaped by God's Word and NOT the world. As Dennis Prager recently stated on his radio program, "It makes no sense why conservative, Christian parents will spend $40,000 a year to send away their kids to Universities to be indoctrinated with ideas opposed to their ideas and wonder why their children turn out to be left-wing liberals."
Of course, I'm not God, I didn't write the Bible and all of this, whether or not we are "born" sinful and the age of accountability, is only my opinion! Thankfully, God is a righteous and merciful judge and has this all figured out.
But Jesus said, "Let the children alone,
and do not hinder them from coming to Me;
for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

I'm confused.....I thought that the wages of sin was death. If a person did not sin then they wouldn't die. How can a person die if they didn't sin, regardless of their age? If God killed a sinless person then He would not be just. Are you saying that babies are sinless or are you saying that they are unaware of their sin?

Obviously your Bibles and your faiths, even your God are much different than mine. You are taught to treat others as if they are not humans or less-than you. Inferior sinners. Am I correct on this assumption from your words? Treat others as you would like to be treated and most of you have failed at this single bit of advice from the God you profess to love so much. Interesting.

As for the home sexual debate, homosexuals deserve our love, respect and kindness. BUT we must not ever condone their lifestyle. Homosexuality is sin. Plain and simple. But that does not mean we treat them any less than anyone else. I would buy a homosexual a coffee, mow his lawn, take a meal to him if he was going thru a struggle. But I would not invite him and his partner over for a meal. Or attend their marriage ceremony etc.
My husband and I just saw a preview screening of Ray comforts ' audacity'. worth seeing and for a first attempt at a scripted film, it is very well done.

"(For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)
12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.
13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.
15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.
18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.
19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?
20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?
21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,..."
If the potter hated Essau in the womb according to His own purpose , though Essau not actually committed any evil act yet, how can we believe a teaching which says that all babies who die get a free pass to heaven? Was God unfair in this case?
Also, (and this is going to sound harsh, but I'm being absurd to make a point) if all babies who die automatically go to heaven, isn't abortion more merciful, eternally speaking, than allowing babies to be born with a good chance that they'll lose their salvation?

If God chooses a person for destruction the person's own sin will condemn them. We will need to wait to be outside of time and in the presence of the Lord to perhaps understand how that can be reconciled, but God says it can be, so we believe Him. I can understand a creating a vessel for destruction that serves a purpose for God in His-story, but what purpose would a billon babies aborted serve if some are destined for eternal destruction?
As for why not abort all babies so none will lose out on their salvation? Such a hypothetical fails to recognize that the family of God is being grown up into Christ by our experiences of faith here on earth. It would completely defeat all of what God is trying to do in this world to have baby souls populating heaven. It is not an issue of only quantity of souls saved by the quality of those souls, with many tried, tested and true in their faith and relationship with Him.
If you want to hypothesize, try this one on. What if all those aborted babies are born again, or return as babies during the Millennial reign of Christ and Christendom on this earth? And then they have the choice to choose to love God? There is so many things we don’t know about how God will deal with things, yet we do know that abortion is a heinous and barbaric act, often a cowardly act, when it is performed for any reason other than to save the baby’s mother. It is playing God and destroying the most precious gifts God can give any mother and father.
The sin of abortion is far more than just the murder of a human being, and to even think about being helpful by destroying more babies misunderstands the many sins involved in the act. Even if a soul is not placed within a baby until it takes its first breath, an abortion would still be a terrible set of sins against God.

Great debate on whether we are born in sin. 2 hours
