Sexuality is Only About Consent?

We've seen Miley Cyrus' transformation from a "good" little Hannah Montana girl to a worldly young woman with no morals or values. A recent comment of hers concerning sexuality shows how far from God's ways she has strayed, "I am literally open to every single thing that is consenting and doesn't involve an animal and everyone is of age. Everything that's legal, I'm down with...As long as you're not hurting anyone, your choices are your choices. I don't relate to being boy or girl, and I don't have to have my partner relate to boy or girl." {I didn't link to where I got this comment from since they all showed an indecent picture of her.}

These thoughts of her seem to be the values of today. As long as there is consent, you're free to have sex with whoever you want and whenever you want. There are no moral constraints for we are to do as we please. She states that as long as you're not hurting anyone, it is okay. Has she not researched the harm that sex outside of marriage results in; STDs, HIV, AIDS, infertility, to name a few? I would say all of these not only hurt the people who are having sex but all those who love these people. Sex outside of marriage is the one sin that God says we reap the consequences in our own bodies. {1 Corinthians 6:18} She is ignorant in her words. Our choices impact ourselves and others.

She is longing to fill her emptiness in godless and immoral ways.  One day, however, Miley will figure out that even though she thinks she is free to live as she wants, she still has that emptiness in her soul. She needs Jesus. All those living in sin and practicing sin aren't free at all. They're in bondage to their sin and there is no escape, except through the blood of Christ. They will keep searching for answers in this world, yet they will never find them.

We all long for something to fill our emptiness; as believers, we long for the garden. We long for the Garden of Eden where we could walk with God, where there is no shame, guilt or sin and we would be joyful all the day long. We will NEVER find our satisfaction in things, actions or others here on earth. It all leads to emptiness without God. We weren't made for this earth. We were made for godliness, purity and holiness in complete union with God until sin entered the world.

Please, don't find your morals and values from society but from God's unchanging Word. Stay sexually pure until marriage and consistently teach your children Truth. Don't deprive your husband of intimacy when you are married. Be careful what you watch, read and fill your minds with. Fill it with God's Word and goodness. Sex inside of God's boundaries is beautiful; outside of them, it becomes ugly and destructive.

Drink water from your own cistern, flowing water from your own well. Should your springs be scattered abroad, streams of water in the streets? Let them be for yourself alone, and not for strangers with you. Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice in the wife of your youth, a lovely deer, a graceful doe. Let her breasts fill you at all times with delight; be intoxicated always in her love.
Proverbs 5:15-19

One needs to keep in mind that Miley does not purport to be a Christian and thus has no Christian moral constraints.

I'm so glad that you shared about her! I've never seen Hannah Montana nor have I heard any of her music, however I have seen some horrible pictures of her on news sites. I AM HEARTBROKEN FOR HER!!!!! I have been praying for her salvation, that the Lord would show her her sin and draw her to Himself. Also, that the Lord would bring Christians into her life to show her Christ. Please pray for her!!

Only the strongest people can grow up in the spotlight/fame and not suffer from it as adults. Drew Barrymore, Lindsay Lohan, Macaulay Culkin, etc.. There are few, Mary Kate and Ashley, that do OK. Struggling remains too common among child stars. It is difficult for them to have an authentic childhood and develop correctly. Too many have problems well into adulthood.

You might disagree, but I worry for the children that are stars of reality shows. We have seen the troubles for some already(I'm thing of Honey Bio's sister). The children have no choice but for their lives- good, bad, embarrassing, etc..- to play out for the public. This causes them to become extremely focused on themselves and hurts their ability to feel empathy.

I'm so sorry for her: my brother used to watch Hannah Montana sometimes, and she was so sweet and funny and then... This. I really don't understand what happened to her.

It's so tragic what happened to Miley. I'm sure the Christian values were not constantly there for her and she seemed to alter her lifestyle once her parents were separating and getting divorced. It looked like rebellion to me. Her dad plays in Christian movies still and he has no impact on her decisions but seems to support it publicly. All we can do is pray. If the family is not involved personally especially the father with a child's life they tend to rebel and stray away from there Christian values and faith altogether. The father has the most impact on a child's life. When I went to a Christian homeschool conference (Rocky Mountain Homeschool Conference) this last weekend there was a huge study (Gen 2 Study) around the nation to find out why so many youth are leaving there faith. A very high percentage of children leave there faith from not having a good relationship with there father, public school, even christian schools had very little affect on staying in the faith. They found that if they had a good relationship with their father, practiced their faith on a daily basis like devotions and were homeschooled the number was so low on leaving there faith and would continue to follow the same practice with there children. When we leave our children in the care of other adults for many hours of the day they take on the moral values that there surrounded by then what is taught at home. Even Sunday school had no impact on keeping there faith. It all starts at home. There was a breakdown at home unfortunately. There are a few Hollywood stars or celebrities that stay in there faith because the family life didn't change and the relationship was still good with there father.

ugghhhh, what a Godless comment from her!, as you say, whether Christian or not, she is a role model for our youngsters. I cannot imagine what her parents are thinking when they read quotes from her like this?
Their hearts must be broken..............
Blessings to you

Good Fight Ministries did a thorough exposè on her and even quote her father as being quite shocked with her current choices, but quite two faced about it with her. You can watch it on Youtube, but it's actually disgusting and disturbing so you will need a strong stomach and a detox thereafter.

It is very sad to realize that so many teenagers and twenty-somethings today believe that everything consensual is okay. There are almost no boundaries or any behaviors left that are too taboo to become acceptable or mainstream. My husband and I are raising 3 children who we want to have Christian, moral, traditional lives. How has that become so out-there and odd? The media attempts to paint those of us who intend to adhere by these centuries old norms as bigots, nuts, and anti-LGBT and anti-abortion; but I feel that rather than be anti- whatever the issue of the moment, how about describe us as pro-family, pro-traditional Christian families? I guess that wouldn't be politically correct, though would it?

I feel so sorry for her. She looks so pretty in the photo above. Now she just looks trampy. I am so grateful we have Christ to look to.

The Willis clan are ok. But I question why they think it's ok to perform in bars and casinos. And sing songs that have seductive lyrics and not one word that may indicate they are believers. And why they are pursuing a record deal with a secular company. I think they are talented and don't have a problem with them pursuing music. But I almost feel like they leave God out of it. I also thing some of the girls dress immodestly. I think I'd rather watch the Duggars.
