Dennis Prager thinks if it is for most degrees outside of being a doctor or something that makes pretty good money, no. He feels that most secular colleges teach the kids how to get drunk, get laid, and get A's. He thinks it is a waste of parents' hard-earned money.
Character is what matters and most colleges don't teach that. They have thrown out God, religion, and character and replaced it with politically correct stuff...saving the environment, staying out of war, keeping abortion legal, making gay marriage legal, etc.
They believe people are basically good so they don't need to focus on character. He said that if you go into college with good character, it is a battle to stay good. If you go in bad, you stay bad.
I remember asking my relatives a few years ago about kids going to their public high school, not college, but high school. I asked them how many kids went into that high school strong in their faith and came out strong. They couldn't think of one kid!!!
I'm sure there are kids who go to public high schools and secular colleges and stay committed to their faith but it is becoming more and more rare. It's taking a risk. I have heard of statistics that prove that many children of faith walk away from their faith because of a secular education that tries to disprove God.
Prager believes that kids with good character will work hard and make a good living. Be wise in where you spend your money concerning your children. The life we live here is short, very short and eternity is long, very long.
O TImothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called.
