Our Yearly Christmas Morning

Every Christmas morning, our whole family gathers at my parent's home.  It is my parents favorite day of the year {and maybe for the rest of us!}. There are ten grandchildren and every year we keep adding more between marriages and babies!

My parents have been married for 61 years.  Alisa, my sister, and Greg have been married 28 years, and Debbi, my youngest sister, and Jonathan have been married 26 years.  All of our marriages have had their trials, like everyone, but they are all strong, good marriages.

After we have a yummy brunch, we all sit in a big circle in the living room and share what the Lord has taught us that year.  It's a beautiful time of listening to God's work in everybody's lives.

This has been a very tough year for me as many of you know, with having to go through brain surgery, a very difficult recovery, and then Cyber Knife treatments.  However, I have had a lot of love and support, a solid family support system, and I know who is in control resting in Him.

This blog has been an incredible blessing to me during this time.  God always knows just what we need.  He is so good. May you all have a wonderful Christmas remembering the birth of our wonderful Savior.

Merry Christmas!

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign:
The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son,
and will call him Immanuel.
Isaiah 7:14

Thank you, Jennifer!
This blog has been an incredible blessing to your readers as well. I love how God has shown you and Ken how to minister to others through this media. A nice reminder that no matter how ugly, sad and creepy the internet can be that God can use anything for His purposes! Your struggles have been an inspiration to me over the years. Right now I am really struggling with some things in my marriage...especially keeping my mouth shut! Why is it so hard some times? I have gone 2 years without really nagging and having a lot of harmony in my marriage and therefore in most other areas. I want to humble myself before God and receive his blessing and this is in my heart and mind but it keep coming out! I am really struggling for about a month and any tips you have for keeping this in check and where to turn in scripture is appreciated.

Families like this are Gods most wonderful blessing to us! Hoping that your coming year is an easier one for you, but so happy that you have a wonderful support system, and hoping that you have a wonderful peace, love, joy, and family filled Christmas!
Dear Lori. You are so much like my dear auntie. She keeps reminding me that I am not under the law but under the blood of Christ. The video is so good. I grew up in a church/cult that used the power of the law to condemn me, to crucify me, and I held on with both hands. I grew so weary of condemning others (as the fellow said), of fighting my flesh by pounding myself with guilt and mentally it destroyed me. I think that is what you call "God's refining fire". Led by His spirit I said no more and asked God to lead me. When satan holds out something that my flesh says "good", I desire Christ soooooo much more. You bless me and I thank you.
Have a very happy Christmas sweet Lory and thank you so much for all your wonderful posts abut morals and God's teachings. I have learned and supported the sentiments I have thru it all. May you continue our Lord's blessings for good health, love and happiness.
God bless your beautiful family as well. I have a post where I have wishes for you all my great blog friends.
