Sarah's Daughters Don't Panic

Even though Sarah faced many fearful situations in her life, she faced them with courage and without giving into fear. God says that we are "Sarah's daughters" when we don't give into fear! This is a biggy, isn't it? We as women are prone to so many fears, but God is looking for women who have learned to fully trust Him in every situation. If we put our trust in the Lord, we will not be overcome with debilitating fears. We are either going to fear, or trust.
{Nancy Campbell}

As I grow older, the more I see the value in trusting God with everything.  I have been through many trials with my health but God has seen me through all of them.  He keeps His promises.  All things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His promises. {Romans 8:28}

I cling to that verse and I can do all things through Christ who strengthens meGod's Word is living and active, sharper than a two-edged sword.  In order to have a gentle and quiet spirit like Sarah without giving into fear one must learn to abide in Jesus.

How do you abide in Jesus?  Is it struggling hard to do better?  No, it is spending time in His Word, meditating on it, and praying.  Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly.  Spend time every morning in His Word.  Let it transform you for we are transformed by renewing our mind with God's truth.

Jesus tells us to abide in Him in John 15.  Know Him.  The only way you know someone is by spending time with them.  The world is a scary place.  If we spend time listening to the news and meditating on it, we will live in fear.  Whereas, if we spend time listening to the Lord and His goodness, we will live in peace and security.

Seek those things which are above...Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. {Colossians 3:1,2}  If you have a problem with fear, look up all the verses about fear and meditate on them often.  They will renew your mind, thus transforming you by putting your whole trust in the Lord and not being afraid.

Anything you struggle with, meditate on Scriptures that deal with that struggle and you will experience that struggle being overcome by the Lord.  You will experience the freedom Christ provided for you.

I encourage you to become Sarah's daughter and know Jesus.  Really know Him.  It is the best investment of time you can make.
***Thank you all so much for your many encouraging comments yesterday.
They really lifted my spirits.

Dearest Lori, I so want to argue with God for allowing that tumor to grow! I think your ministry is very Godly & unique. We NEED you! I know it is Satan who afflicts us but of course, it is God Who ultimately allows these things. He will be glorified as you display your trust in Him & He WILL turn it all for good! I really believe He will hear all these prayers on your behalf & you will be restored to health! (P.S. I know I'm foolish to argue with God, so will turn my doubts into prayers!) Love, In Jesus, Cynthia

What a timely post, Lori! God is so good, preparing the way ahead of us.

I'm praying for you and Ken and your family. Your ministry blesses me so much and I'm grateful that you show us how to walk through all sorts of difficult situations, trusting the Lord who is a good God always. Love to you, Kristi
Dear Lori ~ You really are amazing! Some could say those words and say they believe the sentiment, but when in the moment.....Does one live it? Do they really cling to the Lord, His word & His promises ~
You Do! A Godly woman helping others, even in the midst of your troubles....Thank you!
May you feel richly His peace and His blessings today!

Psalm 34:19 A righteous man may have troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.

Psalm 31:24 Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.
God has encouraged me more than once about being "Sarah's daughters", and now here it is again! Thank you for the reminder!
Thank you so much for the wonderful reminder, and thank you for your ministry. Praying for God to bless and heal you!
I think you wrote this post for me, Lori. :) I needed to hear this today.
I am praying for you, my indispensable role model. You are loved by my family.
Thank you for this wonderful post, as usual!
I am praying for you and your family; I hope that knowing how many women you inspire and who care about you will keep your spirits raised. I know if I had not stumbled upon (no, been LED TO) your site, I would not be trying to aspire to live by God's direction today.

Proverbs 17:22 A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
I absolutely needed this today. Thank you so much!
Dear Lori
Yes, it is so true. Human relationship only flourishes when you spend time together, so why would it be different with our God! Visiting via SS.
Blessings

I have never regretting one minute of the time I've spent getting to know more about my Savior. Yet it seems like the more I learn and love, the more learning and loving there is to be.
Like you I realize this reality more and more the older I get. What a blessing we have. Thank you for sharing this encouraging post.
Blessings,
Charlotte
Thank you for reminding me to live as Sarah's daughter, with all that her story entails! Scripture holds such rich blessings for us--thanks for sharing your insights! Jenny
Dear Lori,

I recently join your group, and I love it! I am newly married to a wonderful godly Christian man. I desire to be a homemaker even though I have no children yet. I want to raise my children with the desire to teach my daughters to become and desire to be godly mothers and wives. But of course God may called them otherwise to something else which is fine. I also am sorry you are going to go through all that! But your spirit and attitude of your heart is refreshing and uplifting. I was in a devastating car wreck in 2008 during my first year of bible college. And God took care of everything. All 89 thousand dollars of my hospital bill was paid for, and there were medics just out to eat, right where the car wreck took place.
And even though it was painful to go through, after being life flighted to a hospital in PA. I began to understand this was bigger then me. God was and always had been in control. The gospel went out , and God used the car wreck to provide for me in so many marvelous ways! So be strong, God has something great planed for your life, something far greater then you know all for His Glory. As you know, God often uses the suffering of others to display His glory to all, and to strengthen the body of Christ through prayer. Will be praying for you!

Saved by Grace,
