Let Food Be Thy Medicine


Did you know that eating out can be hazardous to your health?  Now, I know you can't control everything in life and there should be good times but we must be knowledgeable, not living our lives blindly.

Our family use to get some food from Oscars {a restaurant here in San Diego} frequently.  Most of us had stomach aches after eating their food.  I finally read the ingredients on their salad dressing.  It was filled with chemicals that should not be eaten. I am sure most of their food contained cheap, artificial ingredients.  This restaurant eventually went out of business. 

The Food Babe gave a detailed description of the ingredients from different foods at Panera.  There were some bad chemicals in many of their foods and it is suppose to be a more "healthy" alternative.

Dr. Marshall always said on his radio program that eating out is playing Russian Roulette with your health.  You have no idea what is in the food and restaurants usually cut a lot of corners by using bad chemicals and preservatives in their food.

Cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and auto immune diseases are skyrocketing.  The news recently reported that half of all men will get cancer and a third of all women.  There are many things you can do to help prevent cancer and these other disease.  The most important thing you can do is to stay away from all types of chemicals.

Krapf Macaroni and Cheese has two artificial dyes added to it which contain petroleum in them.  Europe is not allowed to use these chemicals so they use food sources to dye their food.  Their Krapf Macaroni and Cheese is dyed with some herb and tastes just as good.  America uses chemicals because they are cheaper.

So go ahead and eat out once in awhile but make most of your food at home using good, organic ingredients.  Know what it is in your food.  Hippocrates is considered the father of Western Medicine. Some of his wise advice included, "Let food be thy medicine & let thy medicine be food."

Eat food the way God intended for us to eat.  Anything boxed or canned is processed and is usually bad for your health.  Health is a terrible thing to lose. I know. Protect your health.  Be wise in what you put into your body.

Are you familiar with Food Babe (.com)? The site has a ton of info about all kinds of packaged products and franchised restaurants. That's actually where I first heard about this Kraft thing.

What you say is absolutely true. But. I love Kraft Macaroni and cheese. Panara is yummy and McDonalds is awesome too. Sometimes I get track, eatting right and feeling good about myself. And of course feeling better physically. But I can't resist.

Once in awhile is okay but many people live on fast food which will affect their health eventually.
I recently ordered the movie 'Genetic Roulette' and Amazon shipped it to my folks. I told them to watch it as they here me all the time talking about GMO foods. My dad, 84, raised on a farm .. couldn't believe what has happened to the food chain. Yes .. eating out should be a rare event.

At the doctors yesterday I mentioned feeding my son only home cooked food from trusted local sources and that I don't let him eat school lunches .. he mumbled (sounds boring) under his breath.

Most doctors don't study much about nutrition, unfortunately. All they know are drugs and surgery. This is why so many people are going to alternative doctors to find healing.
I believe this with all my heart! We do our best at our house, but we could do much much better. It seems hard to even find foods that don't have chemicals involved in some way or another.
Due to my son having ADHD as a child we stopped buying anything processed and such things as macaroni and cheese I would always make myself. Its the additives in foods that make children hyperactive - some worse than others (its not the sugar its all the chemicals e.g. colourings and flavourings). If we eat out we eat at restaurants that cook food and not open tins to make the meal. I would have a home cooked meal any day to what is served in a place like MacDonald's . Going shopping is much easier and quicker when you skip all the processed foods and its cheaper in the long run!
Thanks, Lori. This is so important. We rarely eat out. I prefer eating at home and cooking healthful foods. Eating organic as much as possible, and avoiding GMOs is so important. We must educate ourselves and know what we are eating.
I think this is so important. It's a hard lifestyle shift to make though. Some of my favorite foods are processed at some level, so I just try for "less often".
Junk food killing you slowly .. and we blinded by that fact
Stop eating junk food and another fast food since 2 years ago. I feel so different
