Women Losing Their Health

My post Hardest Time Ever For Women really struck a chord with many women. Women are overworked and exhausted today. Sure, in the olden days their work was very hard physically but they knew their place was in the home.  They weren't responsible for the home plus providing a lot of the income for the family.

Many women who have to work outside the home are physically, emotionally, and mentally exhausted. They still feel a huge responsibility for keeping the home, their heart, so they feel pulled in many directions and they are suffering for it.

Today's women are plagued with many illnesses...depression, chronic fatigue, adrenal fatigue, heart disease, etc. I have said this many times before but it is worth repeating.  Men's testosterone levels range from 250 to 750 while women's levels range from 25 to 75.  We weren't created physically to handle the stress and hard work of having to provide.

I realize some women are forced to work and I sympathize with them.  It is difficult and I am not here to judge you at all. I am just trying to reach those who have the choice to stay at home and be a keeper at home. This is God's ideal for most women, especially those who have children at home.

Even if you get to be home full-time, don't get too busy in things outside the home. It is okay while you are raising babies to not be in a Bible study or minister to others. Your main ministry and energy needs to be for your family.

If you want to be home full-time, discuss it with your husband, start living frugally and saving, then start praying and watch how God will provide.  Your husband needs you home.  Your children need you with them 24/7. Your home needs you to keep it clean, warm, and cozy.  This is God's will for you and His will is best.

She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her.

Proverbs 31:27,28

Beautifully applicable tot his season of my life! I have been convicted in the last year of my life in this area. My husband is not a believer and didn't have the same views on this subject. However, after months and months of heartfelt prayer The Lord has provided me with a photography business that has minimized the amount of time away from my home to just hours a week. God is good...if only you just let him. :) thank you for the reminder!

I love to hear how God answers prayer! Home is a wonderful place to be.
Beautiful post, Lori! I am so glad I get to be home. I love being home with my children all day and can't imagine the little moments I would miss if I weren't here (and wouldn't even realize I was missing!) I just love being home. I love turning on some music, cleaning up the house, playing with the kids, kissing boo-boos, getting food ready, etc. I am so thankful for my "job"!

I agree. I would have so disliked missing out on all the milestones of raising children. You have a wonderful attitude about it all and it makes all the difference!
Thank you for your ministry Lori! Your words are always a blessing to me!

You are welcome, Heather. Thank you for your encouragement.
Thank you for this post, I needed this reminder today, home is where I'm supposed to be. Sometimes its hard not to get caught up in the day to day blah's. But I wouldn't trade this life, that I have been blessed with, for anything.
Lori, I always feel encouraged when I come here. Thank you, as said above for your ministry. Have a blessed day. Tara.
I think that most women have it much easier in developed countries. There are so many modern labor saving conviences. With a switch of a button we have running water, clean dishes and clothes, vaccumed floors. We can go to a store for any food we desire. I think that home making was far far far more labor intensive in the past or in poor countries.

I think that many of the common illnesses today are in part coming from a sedentary lifestyle and poor diet.
Love your post. I was blessed to be a stay at home mom when my sons were little. And I also home schooled them from the time they were in 2nd and 4th grades. I also believe, as you do, that moms need to be home more often when their children are young.

I have put your blog button on my blog so others can find you. I look forward to reading more from you.

Have a blessed day,
