Women write me and tell me that their daughters are concerned that there are no godly men. Their daughters go to church faithfully and are part of the youth group. All the boys in the youth group look the same as the boys in the world. They are not trying to live godly, pure lives. Are there no godly men out there?
Whenever I am asked this question, I think about these verses in Romans where Elijah is pleading with God against Israel ~
Lord, they have killed Your prophets; they have demolished Your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life. But what is God's reply to him? I have kept for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal! So too at the present time there is a remnant, selected by grace. {Romans 11:3-5}
There will always be a remnant, those who love the Lord and seek to please Him. Never get discouraged in your fight to live lives that are completely contrary to the world's ways. If you are seeking a godly, pure man, ask the Lord for one and then wait patiently until He brings one into your life.
Even though we feel alone in our fight for godliness, we are not. There is a "cloud of witnesses" cheering us on who have gone on before us. As long as the Holy Spirit is alive and active on this planet, we will not be alone. He lives inside of us and in all those who have called upon the name of the Lord.
You must marry another believer. God commands that you only marry a believer. If you settle and marry an unbeliever, you will have much misery in your life. For out of our believing in a Holy God, comes out what we believe in politics, raising children, our entertainment, and so many other things.
Young women {and men, if there are any reading}, wait patiently for a man {or woman} who loves the Lord with their whole heart and only desires to live a life pleasing to Him. Let me tell you after over 33 years of being married, you will never regret it! I am so happy and blessed that I married a godly man. So, so happy!
***The picture was taken at Cassi's wedding. All the groomsmen gathered together praying over the groom and asking the Lord for His blessing upon the marriage. All my children have done this before their wedding. There ARE godly men out there!
