The Lion Story

There was a woman who had a very bad marriage, so she went to the village religious man for help. He told her she would need to bring him a lion whisker, so he could make a special potion for her to drink that would help heal her marriage.

So every night for many months, she went to this lion. She was gentle, spoke to him softly, brought him good food, and was very kind to this lion. The lion eventually gained her trust and allowed her to take one of his whiskers.

She quickly took the whisker to the religious man. He looked at her and said, "If you can win the most ferocious beast in the world through gentleness, kindness, patience, and good food, you can surely win your husband the same way!"

(My abbreviated interpretation of a story told in "Fascinating Womanhood.")

Be kind and compassionate one to another, forgiving each other, just as Christ God forgave you.  Ephesians 4:32

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure , then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.  James 3:17
