My Biggest Advocate

Right after I got my MRI results, I got into my car and called Ken.  He had left on a business trip to Texas that morning and told me he was coming right home.  Then I called my mom and dad.  As soon as we hung up, my dad was on the phone finding a neurosurgeon for me.
Nine years ago with my first surgery, he spent many hours on the phone trying to find the best surgeon.  Two days after finding the tumor had returned, we were headed to Los Angeles.  My dad brought all my past records and MRIs with him.  He is always well prepared.
After scheduling surgery, they told me I would need a family doctor to order a bunch of pre-op tests to be done.  I don't have a normal family doctor.  The only kind of doctors I seem to need are neurosurgeons.  As soon as we got home, my dad went into town and found me a good family doctor.

When I go into surgery, I know he will be there.  He was always there for my past surgeries praying for me and making sure I was okay.  We always knew that about my dad...He would always be there for us when we needed him.
Of course, Ken does everything possible for me also but my dad is a doctor so he has a bit of an advantage in finding a great doctor.  My sister and I were talking on the phone the other day and she asked, "What are we going to do when dad is no longer around to help us?"

Having a faithful, committed father is a huge blessing in a child's life.  If you have a father like that, thank him.  If your husband is like that, thank him.
And he will turn the hearts of fathers to their children
and the hearts of children to their fathers.
Malachi 4:6

You are blessed! I have such a step father.
I haven't been by your blog in quite some time and want you to know I lift up your name today! Prayers of healing and peace.
This brought tears to my eyes, I am so thankful for my father!! What a great reminder to thank them--not just on Father's Day but any day of the year. You are truly blessed!

Hi precious friend,

I just finished describing my dad on my facebook page.....along with my other siblings! Today is my dad's birthday. He died 10 years ago. I too had an amazing Father to love me always, support me faithfully and hold my hand whenever I was scared and would always say, "If it's too tough for everyone else.....it's just right for us"'! That always gave me such confidence.....whether trying to dive off of a high dive, jump from a high place, walk through a dark house or trust in God for the answer to difficult questions. Family prayer time,, family games, acrobatics in the living room and songs at bedtime were a few of our many wonderful memories. Every little girl's hero.....her very first "boyfriend"!! That was my father!

You can read what we said about him on my facebook page.

Now, I pray for "Elohim's peace to swaddle your heart, for Him to grant you health and continued passion for women....having been made wiser.....bolder and as always... filled with more love for God and for others as you come out the other side of this trial!" Amen

The one on the left!
I still remember the time your dad sat me down at your kitchen table and took my pulse and blood pressure. I thought it was really cool that your dad could do that, and I was so touched and inspired that he even cared about MY health. A good man and a beautiful soul!
I have the most wonderful father (who is almost 80) and if I want to be like anyone, it would be him. Sadly I live a long way from him so I only get to see him once a year, but we talk on the phone twice a week. At the moment he isn't very mobile (after two operations) so I send him books to read.

I sent a prayer request to our prayer team consisting of nearly 60 people and just wanted you to know that a church prayer team in South Carolina is praying for your surgery tomorrow! We are praying for total healing and quick recovery. Thank you for being such a blessing with your godly blogs and your open heart to not only the younger women but to some of us older gems :) in God's faith family! Looking forward to His Hand being involved in everything for you tomorrow because if He is for you, who can be against you?! :)
