The Power of Kindness

"A converted wife who despaired of her husband was always very kind to him, for she said, 'I fear that this is the only world in which he will be happy, and therefore I have made up my mind to make him as happy as I can in it.'" (Charles Spurgeon)

This is powerful! How different marriages would be if wives tried winning their husbands with kindness instead of arguing, pouting, or the silent treatment. Where in the world did we learn that bad behavior could ever win our husband's love or any one else's?

Whether your husband is a believer or not, you should always treat him with kindness. He WILL respond. I have mentored many women and not one of them said their warm, loving behavior didn't change their husband's feelings towards them.

Most men are basically fairly simple....They are very happy with good food, lots of sex, and respect. Most women are the ones who tend to be complicated with our emotional ups and downs. So start treating your husband with kindness, smiles, and affection and see if it won't work for you also.

Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, hearts of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, long-suffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another. Colossians 3:12,13
