Win Your Husband!

Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands;  that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives
I Peter 3:1

She doesn't want to win her husband.  She said she has never even "had" her husband.  She would like a divorce.  There have never been sparks in her marriage.  It is boring.  She would love to get out and never be married again.

I looked at her and told her ~

She is commanded by God to win her husband.
I Peter 3:1

She is commanded by God to love her husband.
Titus 2:4

She is commanded by God to please her husband.
I Corinthians 7:34

She is commanded by God to serve her husband.
Galatians 5:13

She started weeping.  She had never heard that before. She realized her error...She seems to want to change.  She isn't happy the way her life is going. You never are when you are headed in the opposite direction from where God wants you to be going.  I know.  I have been there.

God's ways are so good.  I love loving, pleasing, and serving my husband.  This has brought me joy.  It has brought him joy.  He is enjoying life now.  I am too...

Lor, I just wanted to let your blog readers know that you live what you preach! God has done an amazing work in your life! Word on the street is you are a fabulous wife and mother! :-) And, I know from personal experience that you are a fantastic siser! Love you, Lor!~oxo
Such good messages. Too many of us are concerned only with our own happiness. If we could realize that by giving of our selves wholly and faithfully to our spouse, we would be happier. By losing our lives in service, we shall find our lives.
a great message for our world today!! Thanks for sharing... we really do need to focus more on God's command for marriage and his design for marriage than on our own wants.
This is such a blessing even to this single lady. =)

I've learned so much from your posts, Lori. Thank you for sharing your experiences, insights, and wisdom.

Blessings!
This is a great reminder and shows a great love for your friend..
although the tears flowed in them there is healing..

Nell
Nell, Here are the references..

Win your husband. I Peter 3:1
Love your husband Titus 2:4
Please your husband I Corinthians 7:34
Serve her husband. Many passages in Scripture say we are to serve one another. Jesus' last act was to wash His disciples feet as an example for us to serve others.
Wise words.

Hi Lori,
Great words to remind us of our obligations towards God and our husbands. At this point in my life,I am working hard to be a gift to my husband. God's principles cannot be faulted, all we need to do is apply them in faith. Thanks for sharing! God bless you.
