Feminism's Big Fat Lie

"Feminism is mixed up with a muddled idea that women are free when they serve their employers but slaves when they help their husbands."

~G.K. Chesterton~

This sounds like a lie from the pit of hell to me.  This is how the mass exodus of women from the home started.  They were made to feel their lives were worthless unless they had an education and a career.   Look at the destruction this lie has caused ~

Marriages crumbling because there is no designated leader.  No institution without one leader can stand.  When men are the sole providers, it makes it easier to distinguish the leader of the home and besides, that is the curse God gave to men, not women.  And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.  {Mark 3:25} To the man, God said,  ...in the sweat of thy face shall you eat bread.  {Genesis 3:19}.

Affairs happening everywhere with women in abundance in the workplace away from home and not able to nurture the relationship they should be having with their husbands.  She is boisterous and rebellious, Her feet do not remain at home.  {Proverbs 7:11}  {The Bible is speaking about a prostitute here, so I know the majority of women who work outside the home are not prostitutes.  I just firmly believe the Bible teaches that the best place for women is in the home.}

Children being raised by people who are not their parents.  They are not getting the discipline and training they need.  Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.  {Proverbs 22:6}

Families mired in debt because they want a big home, several cars, fancy clothes, and all the newest gadgets.  Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loves another has fulfilled the law.  {Romans 13:8}

I realize there are many Christian women out there who want to be home.  I read all the comments expressing pain of having to work outside the home that you leave on my posts whenever I write on this topic.  Our society has lied to us in this area and even Christian men fall into its trap.

Women's best place is in the home.  Even when the children are gone.  I know because I have an empty nest, however, I have time to babysit my grandbaby, mentor younger women, write my blog, be involved in Bible Study, and take care of my home and hubby.  I also cook meals for families who need help, etc.

Who will do this if all the older women work?  The government?  Here is a description of what an older woman should be known for...having been the wife of one man, well reported of for good works; if she has brought up children, if she has lodged strangers, if she has washed the saints' feel, if she has relieved the afflicted, if she has diligently followed every good work.  {I Timothy 5:10}

If you would love to stay home, I encourage you to read Laines' Letters whose husband never made over $30,000.  She stayed home full-time, raised five children, and paid off her home.  Tightwad Gazette is another great resource written by a woman who believed it was possible for women to stay home, have large families, and own a home in the midst of many naysayers.

With God  all things are possible.  Just keep praying!
