Getting What You Give

Do you want your husband to be more affectionate with you?
Start being affectionate with him.

Do you want him to compliment you more often?
Start complimenting him.

Do you want him to be more patient and kind with you?
Start being more patient and kind with him.

Do you want a friend to call you more often?
Start calling them more often.

Do you want others to be more generous with you?
Start being generous with them.

Do you wish the people at your church were more friendly?
Start being friendly with them.

God's Word works.  He tells us that we reap what we sow.

If we sow kindness, we will reap kindness.

If we sow generosity, we will reap generosity.

If we sow joy and happiness, we will reap joy and happiness.

Don't sow seeds of discontentment, complaining, impatience, selfishness, etc.  These are not things you want to reap.  Jesus told us that if we love Him, we will keep His commands and they are not burdensome.  They are for our good and for all those around us.

Be not deceived; God is not mocked:
for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap.

Lori, I look forward to your posts each day as my life has been changed by the power of God. Debi Pearl's book was instrumental in that change so I appreciate your "tough love" for women. I send your posts to a few women who still have "dial-up computers and cannot download them quickly. Hope this is okay with you. Thank you for being obedient to write what the Holy Spirit is leading despite any criticism you may encounter. The truth will set us free!
God bless you!
"Do you want your husband to be more affectionate with you?" I got tired of waiting for HIM to make the first moves, so yesterday I took it upon myself to inititiate a little physical contact.
Just a little kiss at lunchtime, which turned into a LONGER kiss AND a bear hug! I sowed AND reaped all in a few minutes!
Wonderful! I love these words of wisdom! Very good things to think about. Have a blessed weekend!

Your last post was a reality check for me. BIG difference in my attitude. This post is also great. I can't thank you enough for your blog.
Pretty much the Golden Rule I'd say! And it works!!
Lori ♥ Your shot is absolutely the most beautiful one I've seen for a long long time. Love it!!!

I guess I can't quite say you are making my marriage better but you are making me better. I can't thank you enough. You affirm what I know deep down inside and give me the strenghth - as does God-to follow through. The difference is in me and yet, it directly affects the way my husband is with regards to his thoughts and actions towards me. This isn't just a blah, blah, blah comment. It is a heartfelt thank you for allowing God to speak to me through you. You have no idea the effect you have had on me and my marriage. Bless you.
Hopping over from Hear It On Sunday - great post. The truth can be extended into every area of our lives. Blessings from Zagreb - A Little R & R (www.littlerandr.org)
Wise words Lori!
Oh, the wisdom here.. thank you. Why does it feel so hard some days to sow love and grace? I agree- God's Word DOES work! Blessings from Iowa today.

I guess, I need to get started. I have been wrapped up in some bad things that happen a few years back. I didn't have time to look outside of my self. Now that things are getting better, I guess it really isn't to late to start.
