Femininity Delights A Man

Femininity is doing the exact opposite of what men do.

Angela and Ted had a terrible marriage. Ted moved out and lived in an apartment. Angela started going to a series on Fascinating Womanhood and started applying the lessons learned to win back her husband.

One evening she fixed a cake for him , dressed up femininely, and went over to see Ted with their two children. She looked at him and said, "If you decide to come home and look after us, we all promise to follow your leadership one hundred per cent."

She went into his kitchen and fixed him a warm dinner. As she was leaving, she went to him, wrapped her arms around him and said, "Good bye, Ted. I love you so much."

Since going to this class, she started eating light dinners, exercising, and wearing feminine clothes. {I haven't finished the book yet, but I predict she is going to win her husband back.}

One of the most feminine women I know is my daughter-in-law, Erin.
After meeting her the first time, Ken commented on how feminine her mannerisms were...

She speaks softly.

She never talks too much.

She listens carefully when others speak.

She wears dresses and wears her hair in soft, feminine ways.

She is very tender with animals, babies, and her husband.

She cries easily and freely.

She likes being protected by Ryan.

She smiles a lot and is joyful.

She is exactly opposite of a man and his characteristics. I have learned a lot from her. I know there were many young men who wanted to marry her when Ryan met her. Men like feminine women. Erin has proved that to me!

Let it be the hidden woman of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands.

I was raised to be quite independent and putting myself under my husband's leadership has been a process for me. What I have come to understand, though, is that when I follow his lead, he feels respected and loved, which in turn, helps to encourage him in his decision-making process.
I enjoyed this post, Lori. My daughter-in-law is delightfully feminine, too. (Even though she's also a tough cookie who can do one-handed pushups!) Our whole family loves her!

That is so funny that you said that, Jan. Erin was a pole vaulter in college and a really good one! :)
Beautiful! :)
I too was raised to be an independent and strong woman...and some of the things you describe as "feminine" often strike me as weakness. Perhaps it hurts cuz it's just not who I am. It's a long road coming...but I'm seeing that God can soften me around the edges too! Thanks for this very real challenge to my heart.
This is a great post. Thanks! I found you from Time Warp Wife I have just started teaching a class for young teenaged ladies. Pray for God's leading. thanks! www.feedingnineonadime.blogspot.com
So precious. I love reading about your dear daughter-in-law. That's someone I'll never have in my life. But I raised feminine girls. {smile} I've found the best teaching tool is example.
Such a beautiful reminder. And a lovely photo too :)
I'm coming around, slowly, to the ways of my mother.

It helps that I married a man I really respect...a man who loves me like Jesus loves the church.
Hello Lori,
My mother ia a gentle, feminine lady and a wonderful role model for our family,
We all love her dearly.
The photo of Ryan and Erin is lovely.
God Bless all of your family

Thank you so much for this Lori! My parents raised my sister and I to "wear the pants" and it's been a struggle to undo that mindset. I so want my husband to lead and, let's face it, life is just better when he does! It's his gift and I have loved learning how to help him use it!
I am currently reading The Fascinating Girl and recently blogged about it. The chapters on feminine manner, feminine appearance and domestic goddess are so interesting.

It all sounds simple when you read it but it is taking a fair bit of practise to improve!!
What a beautiful and tender photo!
I love the light in the young parents eyes, and the sweet babe is simply gorgeous!
You are blessed with a lovely family, Lori!
I agree with your post.
It's so true - most men do prefer feminine women who are not afraid to express themselves accordingly.
It's a message that many girls are still not hearing much about these days.
The harsh feminist 'powerful' image is pushed constantly, while modest genteel womanly characteristics are presented as being inferior.
The mistakes of the previous generation of western women must be countered by much prayer, and examples of godly living for young ones to emulate today!
Thanks for linking to LACE again :-)
God bless you..Trish
This is a hard pill to swallow for some people but I have seen it for sure in my own life. When I met the love of my life something "clicked" in me and all of a sudden I loved homemaking. My husband often tells people now that he married me for my personality but would do it all over again for my cooking! He also tells me he doesn't care what I wear but his actions speak louder than words. He is obviously more affectionate and attentive when I put more effort into my hair, makeup, and clothing.
Amen! :)
