There have been some comments on my health posts from people who say they are doctors and tell me how wrong I am to play my own doctor or give advice. Many people have played their own doctor after using doctors for years and not getting better.
Doctors haven't been able to heal a lot of diseases. They told my mom she would never be healed of colitis, but guess what? She was healed! She did completely opposite of what the doctors told her to do.
Doctors are great in emergency situations. They saved my life when I had a brain tumor. They got me out of extreme pain with a neck fusion. I am forever grateful for their skill in helping me get better. But they aren't so successful in chronic conditions like eczema, allergies, asthma, autoimmune diseases, etc. They can usually help manage the symptoms, but not heal the patient. Also, drugs have many harmful side effects. If drugs, radiation or surgery can't help a patient, they tell the patient that what they have is incurable.
This is why I have studied nutrition for so many years. No, I am not a doctor and never claim to be one. Doctors absolutely are to be respected and have their place in our society. But many people have healed themselves through alternative measures either through all raw foods, herbs, fasts, chiropractors, etc.
I realize doctors still think vaccinations don't cause autism. Unfortunately, there are many mothers out there who said that their children were fine before being vaccinated. One must weigh all sides and prayerfully consider the actions they want concerning their health. This is a free country and people should be able to do with their health whatever they think is best without the other side condemning them for their actions.
I encourage you to seek answers if a doctor tells you that what you have is incurable. Work on making your immune system as strong as possible.
I applied my heart to know, and to search, and to seek out wisdom, and the reason of things.

Frankly, many doctors have a "god complex". (All you have to do is read through the comments on the website "My OB Said What?" to see some of these things.) A friend, a physical therapist at a hospital, says she won't watch shows like "House" because many doctors she works with really act like that. BUT there are some good, well-rounded doctors who don't just prescribe, they treat the whole body.
People who buy insurance without reading the policy and riders often get bitten when it comes time to make a claim. Once they empower themselves by asking what a "deductible" and "provider network" are, for instance, they make better insurance choices. The same can be applied to health. Self-empowerment is key.
Taking a mind-body-spirit approach is important and pill popping for the sake of fixing the symptom is a major detriment to this society. Allopathic medicine is wonderful for emergencies and big issues, but for most things we have the ability to take charge of our own healing. The Lord designed us to heal. Is that not AMAZING? My goal is to find a doctor who believes precisely that.

On the other hand, my son had an accident almost a year and a half ago on the playground at church where he was knocked down by an older child, fell on his face, passed out and had a seizure. We rushed him to the hospital and he underwent all of the necessary medical help and testing. Earlier this year two of my three children got pneumonia, and one of them got so sick that he had to spend three nights in the hospital. We did the antibiotics and x-rays that were necessary.
We feel that doctor care is necessary in certain situations, but the majority of the illnesses that we deal with on a normal basis with ourselves and our children we heal naturally.

Needless to say, our faith in doctors is very little.

However, when "diagnosed" with having severe lupus at 19 years old, married and pregnant with my first child, I had to become one. I was treated with high dosage prednisone that caused such a litany of grave health issues, and as soon as the baby was born I began monthly chemotherapy treatments to put my "disease" into remission. I did that for a year. I missed the first year of my son's life, due to physician's who wanted to play God. My very small, once very healthy frame was over 200 lbs due to Cushings syndrome as a result of steroids.
When I sought out "alternative" treatment, do you know what those doctors told me? They told me "I'd be dead within six months", because their personal ego's were harmed. They told me I'd never have anymore children...that my eggs were destroyed from Cushings syndrome from prednisone, and from chemo. They told me I'd likely degenerate very quickly, need dialysis, and total hip replacement surgeries to walk correctly (from the prednisone destroying my hips). I was just nearing 21.
I sought out a doctor who was a medical doctor but chose to practice naturally. I went on a detox, stopped all medication..he ran tests to evaluate me, finding that the only thing I was dying from, was the poisoning they had administered. I went on a whole foods diet, and supplemented in areas where my body was crying out for nutrients. God healed my body and my soul.
My extremely necrotic, swollen to over 200 lbs frame went back down to it's natural healthy weight. My hips are 90% healed. I've gone on to deliver 5 more healthy children (at home, nonetheless) and I'm expecting our 7th. God healed through humility from non-doctors.
We live a very natural lifestyle compared to many. No vax'ing, no regular doctor visits, no running for antibiotics, etc. Our children are all healthy. I grind wheat, bake our own bread, and cook from scratch. My health is as great/greater than anyone else I know, and this is 15 years later. God is so good to give us wisdom in our own advocacy.
I do respect doctors, and they have a wonderful place. They are who we will seek should we need surgery, or have an illness that is out of our scope. Howver, they are NOT God, and they are not to be used for everyday health. Doctors actually are not in the business of wellness, they are in the business of curing disease..if you do not have one, unfortunately, one will be created sometimes, through the use of drugs, etc. Hospitals are for the sick, not the healthy...doctors offices rarely are for health promotion, but for disease.

The way I see it, we have two options: we can either go to doctors and get prescriptions and medicines to help counteract all of the chemicals OR we can simply minimize our exposure to those chemicals by eating real and organic foods and being choosy about what kinds of things that we ingest. (An aside: this is also the reason why I'm so disturbed by the proliferation of hormonal birth control these days, especially to very young teens whose bodies are still developing so much.)
Now, I don't believe that solves every health issue that arises. But it sure does have an impact on how I feel every day.
