A godly mother has an immeasurable impact on the life of her children. If you want to be remembered as a godly mother by your children, there are some things you can instill in your children's lives that will cause your children to treasure you ~
1 ~ Teach your children to read God's Word and how to pray. Help them hide God's Word deeply in their hearts and to talk with the Lord often. This is the most important thing you can do for them.
2 ~ Teach them to trust God for all their needs forever. God is their provider. Don't give them everything they want so they will learn to trust God.
3 ~ Teach them to be generous to others. Whenever you see selfishness spout it's ugly head, deal with it and let them know it is unacceptable behavior.
4 ~ Teach them to obey God by teaching them to obey you. Expect them to obey you the first time you ask them to do something. Then, teach them to obey with a good attitude.
5 ~ Teach them to forgive other people easily. Don't let them hold grudges.
Bitterness is a very damaging emotion.
6 ~ Teach them the power of persistence. Teach them to keep going even when the going gets tough. We don't quit because something is hard.
7 ~ Teach them to have a servant's spirit and to be willing to help anyone in need. Help them to pay attention to those around them so they can be alert to other's needs.
8 ~ Teach them to live orderly lives, to keep their bedrooms clean,
and to help you around the home.
9 ~ Teach them to be an encourager; to say words that
build up and not tear down.
Now, in order to teach your children all of these things, you must practice them yourself and be able to be a model to your children. Motherhood is a tough job but the most valuable job there is in this world.
She carefully watches all that goes on in her household
and does not have to bear the consequences of laziness.
Her children stand and bless her.
Proverbs 31:27,28
