It's Your Choice to Be Offended or Not!

"Good sense makes one slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense" {Prov. 19:11}. Thank you to Amy Hale who wrote this! {You may want to frame it so you don't forget.}

Love does not act unbecomingly;
it does not seek its own,
is not provoked,
does not take into account a wrong suffered.
1 Corinthians 13:5

This is just what I needed to hear, as it applies directly to me today! Thank you!!
I have to say that I have never been sorry by the many times I have "taken the high road" as they say, but oh the times that I have acted in my flesh... My husband and I encourage our children to live this way so that they do not have a life of regrets. Thankful for forgiveness but more thankful for the times I didn't have to ask for it:)
This has been my sin as of late. I have been venting about the people that irritate me instead of seeing the good in them. Venting can feel so good at the time, but really has lasting effects on the reputations of BOTH parties. Thanks for the reminder today!
This is really good Lori! I've definitely learned that it's best to let love cover a multitude of sins.

One of the most valuable lessons I've learned from this blog is not to be so quick to take offense to things. I especially should not be offended by the Bible and its teaching on the role, responsibility, and position of women. Plus, it's very immature if I take offense often and quickly. I've had to read Scriptures like Proverbs 19:11 and regarding charity in I Corinthians 13 many times, as well as to retreat to my prayer closet to pray for those whose words or actions can be offensive.

Praise the Lord!
I needed this yesterday :-( feeling very convicted right now. Thank you for the wisdom. Please keep writing!
