My mom celebrates her 82nd birthday today. She has no aches or pains. She has no arthritis or achy joints. This is pretty much unheard of in an 82 year old woman. She has always believed in the value of an alkaline body.
She had colitis when I was five years old and went on all organic fruits and vegetables. The doctors told her it was incurable {they still say the same thing today}, yet her colon has been completely healthy for many years.
She drove a half hour each way down to a health food store to get cases of organic fruits and vegetables. She fed us healthy our whole lives and you can tell by looking at her that she looks amazing for 82!
She has been an incredible mother and grandmother. She disciplined us when we were growing up. We knew she meant what she said. All our friends loved coming to our home because she always made them feel so welcome.
She is always looking for a good time. She loves taking all of us out to lunch and a movie. If we are doing anything fun, she wants to be included. She is generous and kind. She has never worried about the future, or anything for that matter, but believes good will happen since God is in control. I am very blessed to have such a wonderful mother.
I read this in my devotional today and I thought of her ~
This is the blessed life ~ not anxious to see far down the road nor overly concerned about the next step, not eager to choose the path nor weighted down with the heavy responsibilities of the future, but quietly following the Shepherd, one step at a time.
Who can find a virtuous woman?
She is far more precious than jewels...
Strength and honor are her clothing,
Strength and honor are her clothing,
and she can laugh at the time to come.

My grandma is 83 and doesn't look her age either. She credits that to being raised on a farm and eating stuff grown from the garden and eating the animals that were raised on the grass in the pasture.
I'm starting to see why my husband wants to own a farm one day.
His grandma did and she lived to be 81 and she always had the BEST tasting food because she always grew the best garden and bought the best stuff if she couldn't grow it herself.
And there is no mistaking that you two ladies are related! ;-)
I hope I look as great as your Mom does when I'm 82!
