Beyonce is a peddler of soft-porn. Dancing half-naked has become mainstream. The most-watched sporting event in world history had a stripper for halftime entertainment. The only thing missing was the pole and the laps upon which she could dance.
As soon as the halftime started, I asked Ken to change the channel. I saw the previews for her and knew she was a godless woman who danced provocatively. Thankfully, I have a husband who wants to be kept accountable.
The article by Dave Daubenmire is a very good one. You should read it. It seems every Super Bowl half time is soft-porn now. It is why we never watch them. Our society keeps sinking lower and lower and will be drowning soon.
I was listening to Dennis Prager yesterday and he said a law to allow people to walk around San Francisco nude didn't pass by one vote. One vote! Clothing gives people dignity. Public nudity takes that away.
Women, if you wear bikinis or dress provocatively, you are taking your dignity away. Men are looking at you as objects instead of human beings made in the image of God and with value. We are called to be modest and protect our brothers in Christ, not try to turn them on and struggle with lustful thoughts. They get enough of that from the world around them. We are held to a much higher standard.
Yes, the moral decay of our society is going downhill fast. It may be time to get rid of our televisions soon in our desire to pursue holiness and please God. We must look and act differently than the world so they will see Christ in us. This is the least He deserves of us.
Live for Him. Be obedient to Him. Love Him and love others. This is what He asks of us. Glorify Him in all that you do. This is the path to peace and joy. The world is on the path to misery and destruction. Stay as far away from it as you can.
For this is the will of God, your sanctification:
that you abstain from sexual immorality;
that each one of you know how to control
his own body in holiness and honor,
not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God.

My husband was at the cigar shop, with his friends. He is a Christian, but has never attempted to "guard" what he watches, unfortunately. I was quite surprised, however. Even though he was in a building full of men, he chose to walk outside, sit in the car, and talk with me on the phone throughout the entire halftime show. He said after the first minute of watching her, he felt disgusting. He said he half expected the men at the game to start throwing dollar bills at her. He even asked to make sure our children weren't watching it.
God is surely working on my husband, as he normally would have sat through it, staring like many men. I'm thankful that prayer always works. Sometimes it takes awhile, but God DOES change hearts!

I agree with you on getting rid of the TV. I have not had one for close to a decade now.

I see young women (sometimes as young as 11 or 12) being allowed to leave the house in nothing more than a skimpy tank top and too-short shorts. I don't agree that boys should leer at girls, but what are we teaching our daughters?? It's downright mean to let them dress that way and then get mad because a young man stared at them.
My husband just looks at me and shakes his head. I pray that any daughters we may have will listen to him and understand that he isn't being controlling when he tells them they can't dress a certain way. He was a young boy once and knows what goes through their minds.

I think many people are fed up with the lack of dress of the "stars" and organisations are taking note - how as the article points out, its unlike to be policed. We generally watch DVDs at home and very little TV (as I can't stand the ads) but mostly due to the amount of mindless rubbish on TV.
