A Baby Boy Has Been Born

Wow!  I never remember such pomp and celebration given over the birth of a baby {except for Jesus and I will get there shortly}.  Every television channel was interrupted to tell of this wonderful event.  He is a big boy!

He will grow up to have every luxury one could imagine.  He was born in the best hospital in England with the best doctors.  He will live in a palace all the days of his life and will go to the best schools.  He will have cameras in his face until the day he dies.  The whole world will know all about this baby boy.

Compare that to another baby born hundreds of years ago.  He was born in a stable to a young woman who was not even married to his father.  He was born in a stable.  Although there was no media, God rejoiced at His birth...the multitude of angels singing and the star.

The little prince will grow up to be a king some day.  However, what will he accomplish in his life?  The royalty in England are really just for show.  I don't think they do much in the way of politics or anything.  Yes, they are involved in charities and smash champagne bottles against big ships, but nothing that impacts a whole lot of people, except for purely entertainment purposes.

The baby born in a manger was God Himself.  He left His home in heaven, became a man, lived a sinless life, and was crucified as if He was a criminal.  He did this in order to save all those who believe upon His name from eternal damnation.  I would say the contrast is quite stark.  If He was born today, He would still be spit upon, mocked, and crucified regardless of how many people He healed and how many miracles He performed.

We are told in Scripture that this is not our home.  Instead of putting your hope and excitement in a little prince who can do absolutely nothing for you, put your hope in the king of Kings who can save you from your sins, wash you clean, and make you holy.  There is NO comparison.  Thank you, Jesus, for the cross.

For God so loved the world that
He gave His only begotten Son
that whosoever believeth in Him
should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16

***A reader just informed my of something that I must add to this post ~
Actually the Queen is the head of the church of England, the head of the Commonwealth of Nations and the constitutional monarch of 16 sovereign realms. Her title in some of these realm is Defender of the Faith. This little boy is 3rd in line for the throne, he will be king one day and all the responsibilities that brings.

Lori, the new baby's father is a helicopter pilot in the RAF. He does search and rescue missions. He is just another member of his military unit, he gets no special treatment. He is well liked in his unit because he does do his share of what needs to be done.
What a perfect post. The King of Kings, the Prince of Peace.

AMEN AND AMEN...
I agree about the hype around the royals. But I will say that I am encouraged to see Kate and William's marriage, and the starting of their family, is shining what seems to be a positive light on traditional values. Unlike his father's marriage, William seems to have married for love and Kate seems to truly want to serve her husband and family first. Yes, these royals don't have a lot of real political power, but they do have the power to set a powerful example of a strong marriage, even in the face of public scrutiny, especially after the major public failures of Charles's marriage to Diana and Andrew's marriage to Fergie. Hopefully, Will and Kate will continue to act as Good Will Ambassadors for important charitable causes and the ultimate cause: a loving, stable marriage and family.
Baby Jesus is our baby God, who is born every December, that's why Christmas is only in December for me, because I honor HE'S birth, our Saviours. Beautiful post... God bless you.

Lori I have answered your post on my own blog.
The royal baby was born in the very same hospital that we took our young child to be seen by an orthopedic specialist when we were living in London--free of charge and taken care of by the British national health care system. I am forever grateful for the care we received there.
I think the British Royal family are far more than entertainment (created by the media rather than the family) and those like the Queen do far more than charity work (she meets with the Prime Minister every week for an hour long conversation – and has been doing this for 60 years). They are centuries old and the pomp and ceremony is very much intertwined into British history and culture. I think it is lovely to see this young couple embrace marriage and parenthood and it’s an excellent example to all, especially the young. Prince William has a day job in search and rescue and both he and Kate have been based in Wales and living in a cottage, his brother is in the army and has fought in Afghanistan and this young boy will also have a job when he grows up. And all those palaces etc. – they belong to the people of Britain not the royal family.

However there is no comparison to the Heavenly Father and we all should be looking heavenward – but it is nice (and positive) to see something nice in today’s society.
Focusing on my King Jesus who was born in a stable always jolts me into the reality God that chose this contrast. The contrast is what brings me to my knees in worship of the One True King born to forgive me and save me.

I know it was unintentional but the post is very insulting to members of the Church of England, my church, saying the Supreme Governor ( basically only Jesus and God are above her) is there only for entertainment.... Please Lori can you either delete this post or write a correction.
Great share! Everybody enjoys the birth of royal baby. This article is very interesting to read.
