Satan is the Ultimate Creep

Women are deceived easily. This is why the serpent went to Eve instead of Adam. Many cults and false religions are started by women because they have "heard" more truth from God that wasn't written in the Bible. Women were made emotional by God to raise children and be the softer sex. Emotions are great as long as they are brought under control of the Spirit just as sex is great as long as it is brought under control and saved only for the marriage bed.

Nancy Leigh DeMoss is one of my favorite female Bible teachers. She doesn't try to capture your emotions with her words by adding things to the Bible that aren't there. She teaches the Bible as it is written. Her friend, Mary Kassian, teaches along side of her many times. If you don't listen to Revive Our Hearts broadcast, I encourage you to begin.

Mary gave an excellent lesson on one of them encouraging us to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. Here are some of her convicting words ~

Satan is a creep. He's the ultimate creep, and he will constantly and persistently try to gain ground in your life and worm his way in.

Can you identify an area in which you've been a wimp and have tolerated the creep? Maybe it's a website you shouldn't be surfing. Or maybe it's a book you shouldn't be reading. Or a show you shouldn't be watching. Maybe it's that secret text or email exchange you shouldn't be pursuing. The lunch with the married guy that you shouldn't be having. The daydream or the scenario you shouldn't be envisioning. The place you shouldn't be going.

Or maybe it's the excuse to skip church that you shouldn't be making. Or the bitter resentment you shouldn't be nursing. Or the marital affection you shouldn't be withholding.
Through Christ's death and resurrection, He has given us the power to say "no" to the creep. And He wants us to be strong and not to be wimpy women.

This should be convicting to most of you; it sure was to me. Don't listen to interviews from Bruce Jenner. We should not even know what those opposed to God and His ways do behind closed doors. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret {Ephesians 5:12}. Don't let your curiosity cause you to watch or listen to things you know you should not. Don't watch shows that celebrate fornication and things that are contrary to God's written Word. He commands that we dwell on the lovely and the good and not give Satan a foothold in our life {Ephesians 4:27}. Read blogs and books, listen to teachers and preachers who teach Truth; not adding or subtracting from what the Bible plainly says. Be diligent to show yourself approved. Don't do anything you would be ashamed to do if Jesus was sitting right next to you. He is, you know. He's always right with you.

Instead, dwell on the lovely and the good. Let your mind be transformed by God's powerful Word, not by our society's lies.

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
Philippians 4:8

Thanks, this is a great post. I love the use of the word creep. I'll remember this when I'm tempted to do something I shouldn't.
Loved this post. Thank you. I have learned over the years that women, even strong Christian women, are more prone to spiritual "curiosity" and "new teachings" than men are. Men tend to find the truth and be incurious to anything new - which is why God made them to be leaders and teachers in the church, and not women! Many of the evils in today's world are caused by women stepping out of their God-given sphere and deciding to teach and lead. An unpopular truth, but still true.
I used to listen to Revive Our Hearts years ago but have a harder time fitting it in now that I homeschool and blog. I recently read such a great quote from her book "Lies Women Believe" that I'm now determined to get the book and read it!

Our women's bible study at church studied that book. It made us think about many things that we had never thought about before. Very good book!
