You
know, ladies, it ultimately does not matter if you are in love with your
husband, if you are attracted to him, or even if you are happy with life in
general, though certainly these are nice things to have. Despite what you may
have been taught, your personal feelings of happiness are not the greatest good
and you should not trust your own deceitful heart to lead you. If you are a
mother and you actually love your children, you will not do anything to
jeopardize your children's chances of growing up with their father in the home.
Instead, you will obey God, take up your cross and follow Him.
Rather
than allowing the world to influence us to prioritize our own happiness above
all else and to seek to fulfill the lusts of the flesh, let us instead remind
ourselves of what God calls women to be: faithful, Godly, reverent, loving,
gentle, kind, selfless, patient, pure, wise, and self-controlled. And if you
were blessed enough to have a mother who embraced the cross of self-sacrifice to
raise you, take a moment to thank our Lord for her.

This advice is completely contrary to the advice one hears today, even in the churches. However, it is the advice the Bible gives and I have seen it work over and over again. Is it easy? Walking in obedience is rarely "easy" but practice makes perfect.
Begin loving others more than yourself. Being serving others and putting their desires above your own. You will be amazed at how much more rewarding your life will become.
I appeal to you therefore, brothers,
by the mercies of God,
to present your bodies as a living sacrifice,
holy and acceptable to God,
which is your spiritual worship.
