The Pioneer Woman

Most Saturday mornings, I watch The Pioneer Woman on the Food Network Channel.  Her food looks delicious.  She isn't into my kind of healthy eating but the recipes I have tried of hers are wonderful!  What I love about the show is simply watching a family function as God intended for it to function.

Ree Drummond loves her husband.  I read her blog years before she became famous.  For many months, she shared her love story with us.  She is always building her husband up and thinks he is wonderful.  He does seem wonderful.  He loves God, his family, and he works very hard.

They live on a huge cattle ranch.  All the children get up early and help out on the ranch.  They all work very hard.  Ree homeschools all her children.  You can tell they are very happy children.  The family goes to church every Sunday and is involved in their church.

She loves to entertain and has people over all the time.  She loves her in-laws and is kind to everyone she meets.  She is very funny.  I still follow her blog and laugh while I am reading it.

It is difficult to find television shows anymore with happy, whole families.  It is becoming out of style much to the detriment of children and society.  It will never be out of style with God, however.  It is His plan and His plans are always the best.

And the Lord God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man.  And the man said, "This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh;  She shall be called Woman because she was taken out of Man."  For this cause a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.
Genesis 2:22-24

And God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply."
Genesis 1:22

I really loved her book, it was an awesome "romance" novel. I share it with everyone who wants to read a wholesome book.
I could not agree with you more!!!! I love her show. I also enjoy Home For Dinner with Jamie Deen. He adores his sweet sons and adorable wife. He can't talk five minutes without saying something loving about his family.
I love how much Ree Drummonds involves her family--especially how much she seems to adore Marlboro Man. The scenery is beautiful. I think feeling close to God would be so enhanced by the beauty all around them. I hardly watch any television other than cooking shows because you just can't find shows like these two in the regular television viewing.
One of my favorite shows as well! Ree and her family seem so sweet and loving. I'm like you, I wouldn't prepare her recipes, but that's not why I watch--the scenes on the ranch, in her beautiful home, and fun with her family and friends are inspiring!
I have loved Ree for a long time. :-) I have her books - she's a great woman with a fabulous family. I love this post!!!
Visiting from Better Mom Monday.

I find PW charming, too. I don't watch TV on Saturday mornings, so I miss seeing her show.

Fondly,

I haven't watched her, as we don't have cable. But I agree -- it would be great if there were more healthy relationships featured on TV.
Oh, the Marlboro Man love story was GREAT! Loved that book
I have read her blog occasionally and I love when she writes about her dogs. I saw her show once too and you're right, it was nice to see a loving, happy family!

Thanks so much for linking up to the "Making Your Home Sing Monday" linky party! :)
I love her blog, too! I have laughed so hard at her humor. I actually just made her homemade spaghetti and meatballs for dinner last night and it turned out great! Glad I found your blog!
I dvr Pioneer Woman and find myself watching it before bed. I almost deleted it from my dvr list because I'm trying not to use some of the ingredients that she uses. I've given up cream of soups for instance for better health for our family. I didn't delete it from my dvr list because I realized that I just enjoy watching it, not necessarily making her recipes. I have tried certain desserts for example for special occasions. I thought I was looney for keeping a cooking show even though I don't make her stuff. Thanks for verbalizing what I'm not quite sure I knew I was feeling. I'm glad to know I'm not alone. I noticed her kids are always working or playing and that she homeschools. I need to "undo" some of the media my kids are using more and more. Ipod touch and Wii have become a large part of the day lately. Our air conditioner broke and I've been lazily letting them become couchies.
