Keep Your Home Unpolluted

There never has been a time when there was a greater need for Keepers of the Springs {mothers at home}, or when there were more polluted springs to be cleansed. If the home fails, the country is doomed.

The breakdown of homelife and influence will mark the breakdown of the nation. If the Keepers of the Springs desert their posts or are unfaithful to their responsibilities, the future outlook of this country is black, indeed.

This generation needs Keepers of the Springs who will be courageous enough to cleanse the springs that have been polluted. It is not an easy task--nor is it a popular one, but it must be done for the sake of the children, and the young women of today must do it.

I believe women come nearer fulfilling their God-given function in the home than anywhere else. It is a much nobler thing to be a good wife than to be Miss America.

It is a greater achievement to establish a Christian home than it is to produce a second-rate novel filled with filth. It is a far, far better thing in the realm of morals to be old-fashioned than to be ultramodern.

The world has enough women who know how to hold their cocktails, who have lost all their illusions and their faith. The world has enough women who know how to be smart. It needs women who are willing to be simple.

The world has enough women who know how to be brilliant. It needs some who will be brave. The world has enough women who are popular. It needs more who are pure. We need woman, and men, too, who would rather be morally right than socially correct.

I encourage you to read the whole thing here written by Peter Marshall, a US Senate Chaplain, from 1946-1948.  It exalts the high value of wives and mothers that Christianity ushered in, but modern society and feminism are trying to destroy.  LOVED this!

To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed
Titus 2:5

Thankful for ~

My home to take care of
God is still in control
A husband that loves me
Children who walk with Jesus
Beautiful praise music
Clean and pure entertainment
Living for Jesus!

Or, especially if this was written between '46 and '48, this was another way to appeal to women who had taken jobs while men were fighting WWII, but now wanted them to leave those jobs so men could have them back.

How does taking a job outside of the home make a woman immoral?? That's ridiculous! And most of the men were DEAD after the war.

Everyone has different talents. Talents that GOD gave them. Should we bury our talents in the ground, like the parable, and only ever do one thing?

As for feminism... not sure where the author got all that nonsense from. Women were treated as property before feminism. They could be beaten, sold, raped, and had absolutely no rights. The father could take their children and abandon her, even if he was unfit to raise them. Or, he could just leave her and them, and she'd be seen as the sindul one. Girls as young as 12 would be sold into marriage to men thirty years older, and forced to bear children. So read a little history before you start putting down feminism.
sorry, "sinful" not sindul!
thank you so much!!this really inspires me to keep at it even tho i feel its not the popular way.God bless.
i didn't go read the 'whole' thing....

it is here that i pause long and hard:
The world has enough women who know how to be smart. It needs women who are willing to be simple. The world has enough women who know how to be brilliant. It needs some who will be brave. The world has enough women who are popular. It needs more who are pure. We need woman, and men, too, who would rather be morally right than socially correct.

you see, i do not see insult in being simple. i am simple, yet i am not simple minded.
bravery - a must. pure - one of my heart's desires. and morally correct - that falls in line too.

i've noticed sometimes i can easily get my feathers all ruffled as i feel someone is attempting to force me into a mold and take away from me my true self. however, if i stop and take a second i quickly realized i do not need anyone else to define me, i've been defined. i am His alone. so, there's nothing to fret about in someone else's thoughts about me. i can take or leave it, so long as i already know who i am because of Whose i am. praise Him, i do (:

Well, you need to learn how to write correctly. It's very difficult to read what you have written. As for smart vs simple - why not be both? Agree with what I got out of your third paragraph, though.
