Apply For An MRS. Degree!

The discussion on Girls Going To College was very lively!  I commented that it is sad that universities do nothing to prepare women for the roles of being a wife and mother. One women responded that they shouldn't do that.

Why not? They teach them everything else. So I was telling Cassi, my youngest daughter, this and she said we need to start our own school for young women who would love to prepare for their Mrs. degree.

Cassi will teach them how to grind their own wheat, make bread and other healthy baked goods. She makes incredible healthy peanut butter cups. She's even created her own cooking blog. She's great at math and computers so she can help women learn how to balance check books and make their own web sites. She loves crafts so she can teach them fun crafts for their children.

Erin, my daughter-in-law can teach them all about flowers and writing. She can teach them how to sew, decorate their home, and shop organically on a budget. She majored in biology so she'll show them science experiments to do with their children. They can learn about pregnancy and what to expect. She'll teach about babies and how to keep them healthy and happy. She can encourage them to truly love their husbands in the first year of marriage and beyond.

Alyssa, my oldest daughter, can teach them how to dance and stay in shape. She can explain their new lives in Christ and encourage them in their walk with the Lord. She's great with makeup and hair and can show them how to look as pretty and feminine as possible for their husbands. All of the girls, now that they are all happily married, can give lots of tips on planning weddings, but mostly preparing for marriage. They can all teach how to let their husbands lead and how to make them happy. They will explain how wonderful marriage can be and encourage them to marry a believer and wait upon God's timing. Most importantly, they will teach how to cover their relationship with prayer.

Emily could teach them how to write in calligraphy, decorate their homes, learn to cook food that is pleasing to their husband and how to have a joyful spirit. She's also incredibly intelligent like the rest of the girls so I am sure she could teach them many of the things she has learned in life and how to get through the first year of marriage and still be crazy in love with their husband!

I can teach them God's Word and what it says about submission, modesty, purity, and who they are in Christ. I will show them how to eat well and cook healthy meals. I can explain to them how to raise children and discipline methods that worked for us.  I can encourage them to cultivate contentment and being joyful even in the midst of trials.

So, what do you think?  Do you have any daughters you
would like to sign up??? :)

That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
