Dangers Of Evolution

If children are taught that they came from an animal, they may grow up acting like animals.  There is no purpose to life so they might as well do what they please.  The only love they will receive is the love they can attempt to earn from those around them.  Why should they obey laws since they are just made up by other human beings that came from animals?  Why not just sleep around with lots of people and party since tomorrow they may die?

However, if they are taught that they were known by a Heavenly Father since before time began, that they were knit together in their mother's womb by a loving Creator, that Jesus paid the penalty for ALL of their sins so they could live in freedom from guilt and condemnation, that their Savior is preparing a place in heaven just for them, that God calls them His child and loves them unconditionally, how do you think they are going to act?

Will they act in confidence knowing who they are in Christ?

Will they love others deeply since they are so loved by God?

Will they obey laws and God's commands because they know their Creator knows what is best for them?

Will they use their time wisely knowing that this life is short and they want to glorify God in everything they do?

Will they be generous and give freely knowing that God is their provider and one can never out give God?

Teach your children the ways of God from a very young age.  Teach them their worth is in Christ and Christ alone.  Let them know they are so valuable and loved by Him.  Help them know how to hold steadfastly onto these truths by continually reminding them and renewing their minds with God's truth.

You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.

Great post. Intential living/parenting is so important. :)
Amen and Amen! In 1 Timothy we are even warned against "Science" becoming an idol! Paul was encouraging Timothy to continue to protect against all kinds of false teachers...no matter how "smart" they may be..they come in many forms.

Today, our churches are full of Earth worshipers (not those that are good stewards of God's given planet, but rather those who make environmentalism their idol) and those who believe in blending God's Word with Science to ensure none of us are "dumb" and simply believe the Bible Word for Word.

Thanks for this wonderful reminder on how to bring our children up to know their Heavenly Father!
This is such wonderful advice Lori, and the Bible agrees (as you pointed out). I think this is what is missing from our culture- the next generations are not being raised with traditional Christian values and more importantly they are not being taught about the Lord and about His love for them. Once the Lord gives us children, we will prayerfully move forth in raising them to know Him!

LOVE IT!!!
I love that Chuck Colson once made the comment that we WANTED to have a truly scientific discussion with evolutionists - a discussion using only proven facts. He firmly believed that God is the Creator of everything - including science and that science and creation would always point back to Him.
Oh, dear, my children KNOW God and still act like animals :) We'll keep working on that around my crazy home! I do agree that we must start from the moment they open their eyes and help our little ones to behold their Maker.
Yes, what a lovely thing to give them, a sure foundation that they are His dear ones, covered by his wings.
Good words. Isn't it great to be married that long? we have been married 38 years now with two grown married 'children' who blessed us with six precious grandchildren. (including a surprise of identical twins) nice blog.
Amen! When we teach our children Their true roots, the world changes.
